Frost It Cakery has occasional openings for a Part Time Bakery Intern (20-25 hours per week) for our bakery in Thousand Oaks. We bake from scratch, cakes, cupcakes, cookies and more. The ideal candidate must be available to work 4-5 days a week, with some flexibility. Shifts will starts at varying times – some early mornings, or afternoons. Must be able to multitask and work in a fun, but fast paced environment. We require a min. commitment of 3 months. Please note this is an unpaid position to start.
You will learn:
- commercial baking skills -small to medium sized batches
- making buttercreams
- tort, fill and crumb coat cakes
- basic piping skills
- make desserts

If we feel you are a perfect fit with our team, as an intern you will be highly involved in making and baking cakes and cupcakes, frosting and sprinkling, and more! We all do a bit of everything here! As you progress as an intern, you will observe intricate cake making and may be asked to assist as your abilities and time permits. We make custom/wedding cakes for the neighbor next door to celebrities and more.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that ALL interns must obtain CA Food Handler’s Certification, and if you do not already have that certificate, we will tell you how to get it if you are selected. It must be completed within 3 weeks of your internship start date.
